Advancing Hyperpigmentation Care through Medicine First — Our Director Shares Insights at an International Forum
The Director of our Center was honored to be invited to the Skin Alliance Forum in Kuala Lumpur, where she engaged with dermatology experts from across Southeast Asia and shared her clinical experience and research insights on topical treatments for facial hyperpigmentation.
In Asia, clear and even “glass-like skin” has long been a common aspiration, yet hyperpigmentation remains a frequent challenge.
🔹 While laser therapy can be effective, inappropriate parameters may lead to rebound pigmentation or even depigmentation.
🔹 Topical medications and emerging dermocosmeceuticals now have increasing clinical evidence, whether used alone or in combination with lasers, making them an indispensable part of modern treatment strategies.
The Director also emphasized the principle of “Medicine before Aesthetics”: true, long-lasting beauty must be rooted in science and safety, through a thorough understanding of pigment biology and evidence-based care.
